Hey everyone. I have a quick question. I dont hope it dosnt sound to personal or anything & I also know it varies in every state, but how much salary & about how much commision do you make in like a year?? Again I dont want anyone to be offended sorry if it is. But I just wanted to know. I dont even know if the questions came out right but I hope everyone gets it. Thanx

Well I know that we are learning that we make some commision. I think it varies from states maybe?? What state do you live in. I think we should be able to make better pay than that starting out :-(

Here in PA, I think we are pretty close to the average, but not sure. Our agents start somewhere around $20K and head on up to about $35K. The Manager of a Corporate Department might make more, but it depends on the responsibilities.

I also agree that it is best to steer away from commissions. Travel is a difficult field and it is necessary to provide the highest level of customer service. It is difficult to do this while at the same time pushing to close a sale. I know several agencies that do use commissions, but I do not at mine and nor do I ever intend to (unless the industry changes that drastically).

One thing we do consider is offering a bonus for extra effort or a large sale. For example, we had an agent who found and orchestrated a group of nearly 1,500 students to Hawaii. Well, that was an amazing find so she was rewarded witha bonus. That is generally in our leisure department. In our corporate area, I take agents on sales calls with me and a bonus is paid to them if we receive an account based upon their assistance on supporting the sale.

Does that make sense? Does that help?

Let me know if there are any more questions.

Thanks!
