Reading Iae's recent post made me realize that really what I feel like doing most often in this community is ranting and venting. So if I happen to rant about anyone particular airline or car company etc, A) it's just my point of view B) it's not how I feel about the WHOLE company and C) I understand full well that I could be having a bad day and/ or the agent on the other end could be having a bad day.
I really don't want to offend anyone working for those places, but sometimes I need vent to people who understand what I'm talking about. LOL

I work in a travel agency, and as of Jan. 1, 2006, all passPORTS (Hee) will be required on ALL cruises. I know that was basically said... but just an interesting fact. We had to mail ALL people already booked, and tell them. Fun fun.

Hmmm, I dunno where to start. I started at my current agency back in 1998 as their IT person, although I loved the industry. Since then, I have definately increased my knowledge and have moved in to Operations, Accounting, Sales, and even Res.
I would say that corporate travel really intrigues me. The profiles, the destinations, the traveler needs. It is all quite, um, painful. :-) Naw, I love it and couldn't imagine doing anything else.
My issues mainly come with not always knowing the travel-side of things so that is where I might pick brains around here. However, feel free to ask me any questions related to technology, scripts, qc, etc. That is my forte.

ARGH! I hope I never have to deal with Discount EVER again!!! They don't have a central agent line, they don't have any kind of way to look up corporate disocunt numbers. Every person I spoke to could not help me but to make a completely new reservation manually. Good friggen grief! WHY my clients company has them as a preferred supplier is beyond me!!! I don't have time for this crap!!!
